“Fuck You, Stephen Hawking!”
Drinking & Writing Theater announces its first new show of its 15th season, Fuck you, Stephen Hawking!. The new comedy will be performed at the Drinking & Writing Theater, 737 W. Randolph Street, Chicago. The show opens September 16 and runs through October 21 on Saturdays at 4:00 p.m.
Written by and starring Sean Benjamin and Carolyn Benjamin, Fuck you, Stephen Hawking! is the story of a couple who hear Stephen Hawking’s dire prediction that Earth will come to an end sometime in the next thousand years, and possibly as early as one hundred years. The couple must come to terms with the reality that they have nothing of value to add to saving humanity…except possibly their children…who either need to help find a way to get off Earth or parish. The scenes within the play take place throughout the multiverse where the audience will encounter versions of Stephen Hawking as well as an abducted Manne-Kenny Rogers and the babbling head of The Bustless Bust of Dolly Parton as well Scientist the Klown with his sidekick El Luchador Wolfy.
Sean and Carolyn have previously collaborated on The Neo-Futurist play Pseudo-Chum and the Drinking & Writing shows The Earliest Known Photo of Men Drinking Beer and American Variety 1 and 2.
